• Height of Steps
          Small - less  than 3 inches (<76mm)
          Medium - 3 - 6 inches (76mm - 152mm)
          High  6 inches or more  (>152mm)
• Width of doorways
         Narrow less than 28 inches (<711mm)
         Average  - 28 - 32 inches  (711mm - 813mm)
         Wide - 32 inches or more (>813mm)
• The information in this guide is based on personal visits during August and September 2000, always involving an appraisal from outside and sometimes the interior as well.  Businesses and organisations were then given an opportunity to comment on a draft of their entry before publication
